The pictures on the site come from the sources below; company marks belong to their companies, identify the security and imply no endorsement.

Asger's account of it: a picture in public circulation, not one Autopilot made; the same picture is on Autopilot's "Leopold Aschenbrenner Tracker" card. Enlarged to 1260 wide by Follow, with 170 px of the dark wall above him continued upward so the portfolio's name on the card clears his head.
- markwayne-mullin (a candidate in the catalog): no portrait added. Commons shows him as Secretary of Homeland Security since March 2026, so he no longer files congressional disclosures; the candidate entry wants a look before it wants a photo.

The three pictures Asger supplied (appaloosa, duquesne-family-office, situational-awareness) are in use without an established licence, by the owner's decision; a press photo's usual licence is editorial and does not cover promoting a product. They are the first things to replace or to license.

Licences that ask for credit (CC BY, CC BY-SA) are credited here; the pictures Follow draws from these photos (share cards) carry no credit line on them, and a CC BY-SA photo inside such a picture raises the share-alike question. Both are for the legal read, not settled here.

Round company marks

# Round company marks

The circular brand marks beside a ticker in Follow's holdings tables: one for every stock and
ETF in Follow's Ondo catalog and for other tickers portfolios hold, 510 files in all. Each mark is the
trademark of the company or fund issuer it names. Follow claims no ownership of any of them,
is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them, and shows them only to
identify the security.

The files are TradingView's renderings of the issuers' logos, taken once from its public
symbol-logo set (`s3-symbol-logo.tradingview.com`) by `scripts/fetch-stock-marks.mjs` and
served from this repository, never hot-linked. `manifest.json` maps ticker → `{ file, name,
source }`. A ticker with no entry falls back to the marks in `../icons/` and `../stocks/`,
then to its initial. An issuer who would rather not be shown this way can write to
hello@follow.fund and the mark comes down.

Company marks

# Symbol-only company marks

Square, symbol-only brand marks for the stock-token table — the thing you can still
read at 28 px, as opposed to the wordmarks in `../stocks/`. Every file here came
from **Wikimedia Commons**, fetched through the Commons API
(`action=query&prop=imageinfo`) with a descriptive user agent, and every one was
eyeballed at 28 px and 52 px on both a white and a near-black background before it
was kept.

`manifest.json` maps ticker → `{ file, source, licence, dark }`. `dark: true` means
the mark is a dark single colour (or a dark tile) on transparency and needs a pale
chip behind it in dark mode; `dark: false` means it is full colour or light enough
to sit on either background.

Coverage is deliberately partial: 30 of the 194 stock tokens. Commons simply does
not hold a symbol-only mark for most mid- and small-cap issuers, and a wordmark
squeezed into 28 px was the problem we were solving, so those tickers were skipped
and keep their existing `../stocks/` wordmark as the fallback.

### Trademarks

Commons flags most of these as *trademarked*: the copyright in the artwork is free or
expired, the mark itself is still the company's. Using them to label that company's
stock token is nominative use and is what Robinhood, Coinbase and mirror.tips do, but
they must not be restyled, recoloured, or used to imply that an issuer endorses
Follow.

## Judgement calls worth knowing about

- **`UPS`** is the gold shield, which does contain the three letters "UPS". It was
  kept because the shield silhouette — not the lettering — is what reads at 28 px.
  Marks that are *only* lettering (Dell's circled "DELL", the IBM bars, AMC's "amc"
  roundel, Cisco's bars-over-"cisco", Intel, AMD, Zoom) were all rejected.
- **`AMZN`** and **`NFLX`** are full colour but mostly dark — Amazon's "a" is black
  above an orange smile, Netflix's is a black tile with a red "N" — so both are
  marked `dark: true` and want the pale chip in dark mode.
- **`RBLX`** is the blue "2025 logo" file, which Commons describes as the current
  Roblox Corporation mark. If it ever looks wrong, the same tilted square exists as
  [Roblox icon - 2017](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Roblox_icon_-_2017.svg)
  (red) and [Roblox player icon black](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Roblox_player_icon_black.svg).
- **`CRM`** and **`NET`** are both black clouds and sit close to each other visually;
  the Cloudflare cloud is the flatter, wider one.
- **`AAPL`, `GE`, `META`** carry `width`/`height` but no `viewBox`; the other 27 have a
  `viewBox`. Nothing was added to or edited in any file — they are byte-for-byte what
  Commons serves.
- Near-misses that were caught and thrown out: `Arista.svg` (a geometry diagram —
  *arista* is Spanish for a polyhedron edge, not Arista Networks), `Snowflake logo.svg`
  (the K-pop group GFriend), `Logo Oracle.svg` (not Oracle Corporation), `Circle.svg`
  (a circle with the word "test" in it), `Boeing.svg` (a technical drawing).

# Logo sources

These files are company and fund logos used **only to identify a security** in Follow's
tables, next to its ticker. Each mark is the trademark of the company or fund issuer it
represents; Follow claims no ownership of any of them and is not affiliated with,
endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.

Every file here was downloaded from **Wikimedia Commons**, which hosts only freely
licensed or public-domain media. Nothing is scraped from a company website, and nothing
is hot-linked at runtime — the images are served from this repo.

Coverage: **147 of 194** stock tokens in
`src/lib/chain/registry/mainnet.json`. Tickers with no entry in `manifest.json` have no
logo and the UI should fall back to the bare ticker.

Most marks are in the public domain in the United States because they consist only of
text and simple geometry and fall below the threshold of originality ("PD-textlogo" /
"trademarked" on Commons). Public-domain status covers copyright only — trademark rights
still belong to the respective owners, which is why these are used purely as
identification.

## ETFs use the fund issuer's mark

These tickers are funds, not operating companies, and no logo exists for the individual
fund. They are badged with their **issuer's** mark, which is how brokerages normally show
them. Several therefore share an identical image — drop them from the manifest if that
reads badly in a table.

Vanguard (BND, VTI), Invesco (QQQ, SPMO) and United States Commodity Funds (USO) have no
usable corporate logo on Wikimedia Commons, so those funds were skipped.

## Manifest fields

`manifest.json` maps an uppercase ticker to:

- `file` — filename in this directory.
- `source` — the Wikimedia Commons file page the image came from.
- `licence` — the Commons licence short name.
- `wordmark` — `true` when the image is the company's name set as type rather than a
  compact symbol. Derived from the aspect ratio (wider than 2:1). Wordmarks need a wide
  slot; they will look wrong cropped into a small round badge.
- `needsBackdrop` — `true` when the mark is a single flat colour on transparency (almost
  always solid black), or a raster with no alpha channel. These disappear against a
  matching background, so put them on a neutral chip in both themes.

## Notes on individual picks

- **GOOGL** uses the Alphabet Inc. wordmark, not the Google "G", because the security is
  Alphabet.
- **GE** uses the GE Aerospace mark — General Electric renamed to GE Aerospace in 2024.
- **CCL** uses the Carnival Corporation house flag. It is an official Carnival corporate
  mark and squares up nicely, but it is not the "Carnival" script logo; no free version of
  that exists on Commons.
- **AMC** uses the AMC Theatres mark (AMC Entertainment Holdings is its parent).
- **DELL** uses the round Dell mark rather than the Dell Technologies wordmark, because it
  reads far better small.
- **MSTR** uses the 2025 "Strategy" mark (MicroStrategy renamed to Strategy).
