The verified check
The blue check beside a curator's name means Follow has confirmed who they are. It says nothing about how their portfolios perform.

What the check means
Every portfolio names who put it together: by Follow for the portfolios Follow rebuilds from public filings, or the person or organisation who published it. The check beside that name means Follow has confirmed the identity: for Follow's own portfolios, that they come from the filings named on the page; for a person, that they control the accounts they claim, such as the X account they link.
What it does not mean
The check is not an endorsement and not a claim about returns. Every portfolio on Follow shows its performance the same way, from the same daily prices, whether its curator is checked or not. A checked curator can lose money; an unchecked one can be excellent.
Portfolios without the check
Anyone can publish a portfolio on Follow, under any name. A portfolio without the check is published by someone Follow has not confirmed: treat the name as a claim, not a fact, and read the portfolio on its holdings and its record. What a creator publishes is a list of weights, kept by Follow as dated versions from the day it first went live, so the record is real even when the name is not confirmed.
A name that belongs to someone else comes down when it is reported. Write to privacy@follow.fund with the portfolio's address.
A mark for the record, later
Follow plans a second mark for a track record, awarded by numbers published on the site: time live, the result against the benchmark, and the people following. It does not exist yet; when it does, this page will say exactly what it takes.
Where the portfolios themselves come from is on where portfolios come from.
